With today being potentially the last day on ice for the season I really wanted to go out with a quality fish to get my mind through until next ice season. Looking back it’s been a great season for me with a few new personal bests through the ice and many memorable outings with friends.
Hitting the ice around 7:15 this morning with plans to stay all day or until I was satisfied.
By about 11 and not having iced a fish yet after watching my 2 fishing partners for the day ice at least a fish each I began to get a bit concerned. Until a thick “red bar” appeared on the flasher and smashed my jigging spoon!
Game On!
It was hooked fairly deep but we were able to clear the hook and felt that she had no issues upon release.
What a way to end the ice season!
Time to pull out the long sticks and get prepared for next weekend!
