With my good buddy Tim Allard back in Canada after a little hiatus down under we hatched plans for this day about 5 months ago! We decided a day plunking Largies would be in order. Our BIG buddy “Big” Jim joined us. Jimmy is always a blast to fish with and Tim and I were happy to hear his schedule allowed it.
We dropped the Lund in the lake around 830 and we were off. BIG started throwing one of his trusty crankbaits. I was going back and forth between a jig and a soft stickbait. Tim was flipping around a Senko style bait as well.
When I heard a big toilet bowl whoosh I knew Jim had a goodun. I was right. Chunky Monkey!
We had a blast catching up with Tim. Though we were always in contact with him via phone while he was away, spending a day in the boat was a great time for all of us.
BIG had the hothand early. Some Lund rocking hooksets I’ll say!
Even though Tim’s bass mojo was off in the early going he put together a few fish to end the day.
My quality fish came later in the day. A few like this graced my jig.
