Rideau Lakes Fun….

One of the biggest bonuses to having mid-week days off is the chance to fish lakes that see heavy traffic on weekends.  I decided to try out a new stretch to me on the Rideau Lakes Chain.  I had heard good things and decided to give it a go.

Between my partner for the day and I we had about 16 Largemouth, 10 Smallies and countless amounts of Bluegill, Perch and Rock Bass.  Just a great busy day.

The highlight of the day was my second 5 plus pound fish of the 2011 season that was followed up shortly after by another nice chunk of Largie.

The big girl fell for a Senko.  Her younger sister fell for a Double Wide Sweet Beaver on a Title Shot Jig.

For gear I was using a 7’6″ Medium Shimano Crucial spinning outfit spooled with 30 pound Hi-Vis Yellow Power Pro to a 10 pound test Fluro leader while throwing Senkos.

While flipping I was using my trusty 7’6″ Heavy Crucial with 40 pound Power Pro.

Good Times!
