Slabs in the Dark…

With the temps in Eastern Ontario on Saturday hovering into the -30 with windchill I decided to do some catching up with the family and stay warm! Sunday afternoon I decided to head out in search of the evening crappie bite. Hoping a full moon would have them wound up, I wasn’t disappointed. Tiny jigs tipped with fresh maggots did the trick tonight. 17 feet down in 21 feet of water was their stage. While they were finicky tonight we did manage near two dozen crappie topside. Best fish was this one at 13 inches on the tape.
