Plump Pumkinseeds…

Despite the ultra frigid temps that arrived in Eastern Ontario last week, the urge to hit the ice won out.  A few hours on a local hotspot for big Gills and Seeds?  Chevy was game.

It wasn’t long before the crew were chattering back and forth about how impressed they were with the size of them.  Aggressive and plump.

Chevy’s new PB was landed in short order.

When I set the hook into the next snarlin’ darlin’ she pulled some drag.  Walleye?  Nope.  When it came to the surface it tangled in the transducer cable and just sat there so I grabbed the camera.  Until she turned sideways and covered the complete hole I had no idea how big it was.  Oink.

In the end she fell .12 of the Ontario record for Pumpkinseed.  Still an awesome fish that will like great on the wall at the house!
