Birdee and I took a holiday from work today and had high hopes in finding some late spring trophy crappies. We arrived to find the water had dropped yet again! Going to be an interesting summer with these spring levels. The shallow bite was nothing but Bluegills so we backed off to the first drop-off. 12 feet of water was the ticket, on top of weeds. Though our numbers were good today it was a day of frustration size wise. Loads of Buck Crappies which are always on the small size. We still had a blast as we always do together. Our fishing schedule together is very busy for the next month, we’re really looking forward to it!
