Being a largemouth fan at heart I rarely target smallies. The fall time is the excpetion to that rule! When the big bruisers show up to throw on the feed bag I like to be there to greet them. I really only spent one day on them this fall, which is a shame.
Birdee and I took a mid week holiday and hit a popular smallie lake come fall time. She laid a beating on them and me!
Drop-shotted Slammers and dragged tubes were the ticket as usual. Smoke coloured baits ruled the day.
