The story of PDeez……

When I was first introduced to Paul Didaskalou by John Anderson from the Ottawa River Musky Factory, I initially thought this was the Energizer Bunny’s Hyper Brother. Our conversation was in high speed and though I was in the conversation I wasn’t saying much! Personally I’m a laid back kinda guy, Paul is fiery.

Very quickly I realized where that fire came from, passion. Passion for Muskies and his creations. PDeez Musky Inlines.

Paul is a fishing fanatic and has been since his days in the North. Anything that swims, but his true love has landed on Muskies. Living in the East end of Ottawa with the famous Ottawa River and it’s big girls on his doorstep, it’s understandable.

Talking to Paul you realize this guy has been thru a lot, heck he’s had a battle with cancer and won.  “I’m living 3 years at a time man”, that statement still resonates with me.  You’d never know it by someone in their 40’s who has decided to delve into the bait making business.

“No one is going to get rich doing this, it’s not about the money,” he says. He started making his own baits in 2011. Trying to make a better mousetrap. He found many flaws in the mass produced baits that let him down, less hook ups, poorly turning blades, balance points out of whack. He sat down and began to create…The PDeez Big Ten.

Through his efforts he has created a bait that is easy to throw, the blades start to turn on impact and his “No-Jam Flash” is the real deal. What made me a believer? This did.

My first 50+ inch fish came on the Harley pattern, named after Paul’s beloved Lab.

Watching Paul assemble a bait is interesting, we all get an idea how these things go together. His insistence on checking every component before it goes on is borderline OCD! “Everything has to be perfect, hooks, clevices, beads and of course the marabou flash”.

He began to show me the process of separating the marabou flash, measuring each precisely to give the best coverage. Crazy attention to detail goes into these baits that when you pick one up you may not notice it but really inspect it, you’ll see.

PDeez inlines are available at most local shops and online at www.PDeezmuskyinlines.com
